HRT or anti depressants

I have been on paxil for anxiety and I have had hot flashes for 18 years and I was not in menopause. I did not start the climara 0.1
until 4days post op and I really felt fine. But now I feel moody,
depressed and angry alot and I was wondering if I needed a lower dose patch since I dont have alot of all the problems of menopause or try it without some HRT for awhile.
Thanks
Julie

HRT or anti depressants

Many women find that over the course of the first year after a hyst that they need to adjust their estrogen a couple times. .1 Climera is a generous dose and you might feel better on one of the lower doses. Ask your doc about trying the .05 dose for a couple weeks.

HRT or anti depressants

I called the doctor today and he is putting me on the 0.75 instead of the 0.1 but I took off the patch last night and I actually feel
better today so I am going to wait a few days and see how I feel then try the lower dose patch but I intend to work with it till I get to feel like I should.
Thanks

I FOUND ST JOHNS WORT IS VERY GOOD

:jan e: I found st johns wort over the counter herb works great for anixty and minor depression, but its sun sensitive ! i dont lay out in the sun any way! in fact i try to avoid the sun on count of hot flasshes any way ! but at times i get out my st johns wort 3oo mg, it seems to work like instant to me ! its called st johns wort, natural herb for depression and anxity! you can find it at osco drugs, walgreens, walmart, and of corse health stores. you cant take with other medications, i dont take nothing right now except my natural herbs, , but whats good for one person may not be for a nother! im just a lucky one to not have prolbems with natual herbs ! and i love it ! st johns wort is safe, said on the NEWS EVEN, but its SUN SENSITIVE ! i found NO SIDE EFFECTS WHATS SO EVER ! but if your on daily meds for something, it interfears with it! if your like me- on nothing then its safe, i would start out on low dosage , i started out on 300 mg, capsule 3 times a day ! didnt have a doc at the time 2 years ago, no insurance, so i went to health store and they Reccomemend ST JOHNS WORT, , but i ran out of the SUN ! LOL, didnt want sun burn, but i managed on that for gosh at least 2 years with GOOD RESULTS ! HAVE A GOOD DAY !

HRT or anti depressants

Hi Sparky76,

It sounds like you are doing the right thing and listening to your body. Maybe it was just a little too much too soon and now you can try the lower dose when it feels appropriate or not.

Rest and take care of yourself.

HRT or anti depressants

Hi peggy sue,

I am with you about the natural stuff but that takes trial and error too.

I am a when it comes to taking any kind of pill. I tried the St. John's Wort, but only one pill. I was taking Xanax at the time and I was wiped out at work. So sleepy. The two do not mix. I am off the Xanax now. I might try the St. John's Wort again for stopping smoking and to lift my mood. My brother is taking 5-HTP but I haven't researched that one yet.

I took the Black Cohosh and might try it again. I found that it really did lift my mood and helped with anxiety but since I smoke (which I feel bad about, such a taboo) the Black Cohosh being a drying herb, my lungs hurt and I started getting headaches. I hated to stop it and I might try the Remifemin because I can take less but it's expensive.

I am researching Flaxseed Oil at present and whether I can take fish oil and Flaxseed at the same time. Flaxseed, I read is suppose to help with depression.

I am so so glad the St. John's Wort is working for you. What other natural remedies do you take?

Take Care

HRT or anti depressants

Well I tried for a few days without the patch and didnt do to bad but then I decided to try the patch again the doc gave me the lower dose although I really only wanted 0.05 so I cut a 1/3 off the .075 and I have been wearing it for 3 days and I feel pretty good so he gave me enough samples for 5 weeks so I will do
some trial and error working till then and hopefully I will know what I need. I think my hormones had been messed up for years and that I was producing alot of extra estrogen. I so think us woman know our bodies. I always was one that when I used the ovulation test strips I would ovulate but the temparture chart would not show it. So I have been a little different than what a doctor thinks is the normal woman and I think we are all like that somewhat. LOL
