When should I stop taking Vicodin?

I am currently taking vicodin for pain and my surgery is 2/24/05 when should I stop taking it?

You'll really have to ask your doctor that one. I assume your pre-op has happened or is about to happen. That's when they discuss meds before surgery. The biggest issue is with ibuprofen, which increases the risk of bleeding during surgery. I'm not aware of any specific surgical risks with vicodin but you need to speak to your doctor.

Not sure when you should stop taking it, but I really didn't need anything as strong as Vicodin after a couple of days.

You should ask your doctor, but I didn't have to stop taking it before the surgery. I was actually told to take a vicodin the morning of my surgery.

I took Vicoden up until the night before. Had to stop everything else.
