Scared- Think My Bladder Dropped!!

I replied to another topic awhile ago about my problem but wanted to start a thread so everyone can get a chance to see this and hopfully someone can help me out.

Had a vaginal hyst with the cervix being removed as well on Jan. 27th. Had a prolapsed uterus and my cervix was dropped into my vaginal opening.

I saw my Dr for my 2 week checkup this past tuesday, was at almost 3 weeks post-op then. Anyway he said to increase my walking a bit so I walked slowly into the grocery. Started feeling strange like something had fallen. Finally yesterday I got the nerve to look in a mirror to check myself out. I was so scared to see what appears to look like a cervix barely inside my vagina. Sooo I see it is where I pee that is staring at me all bulged out like an eyeball! I am numb from shock to say the least. My Dr. is out of town until tuesday and I made an appt. to see him then. I guess this means that my bladder has dropped?? I am having pains like a bladder or UTI infectiion. Doc did a urine culture for that at my appt. tuesday but no results yet. He didn't check me internally as we didn't see a need at the time. Boy what a difference a few hours can make!! It totally freaks me out everytime I look in the mirror, it looks just like an eyeball looking at me!!! I can't recall what that is called right now as it is late and I can't sleep from worry. I can't even remember where your urinary opening is suppose to be located, can anyone help? I know it's near the clitoris, but is it inside the vagina? That is where the "eye" is looking at me from. I also have some new folds of skin that have appeared at the vag. opening that wasn't there a few days ago ike something dropped down. As I said I had a prolapsed uterus so my cervix stuck out of my vagina opening and this cervixy eye thing is almost identical. I looked online trying to find pics of our urinary opening is suppose to be and all it comes up with is smut, nothing medical.

Please add me to your prayer list as this has me scared. I have a teenage daughter to care for who has Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair. My hubby is doing all her care right now. So I need to be healthy for my kids, esp. my daughter who is totally dependant on us. I am so saddened to see so much damage in 3 weeks time. All this pain from a surgery I had to help me only to cause more problems!! My heart is just broken. :burning:

Maybe go to www.pelvicfloor.com (I hope that's it). Go to the images of cystocele, rectocele, prolapsed vagina and so on. They show actual surgical photos of these things.

Yes, pelvicfloor is the right one. Go and click on the image library, then choose the ones I mentioned. You may see your eyeball thingy!

Scared- Think My Bladder Dropped!!

I looked at the Pelvicfloor site and yep that certainly looks like my urethra. I can't see my bdder just my urethra so I am praying hard that it can be corrected easily. I need any info anyone can give me who has been through this or knows anyone who has. I am not finding any info to be honest. Not even here unless I am not looking hard enough? I am very scared. Why don't the Dr.'s somehow reinforce while they are in there so this doesn't happen?

Sparkly1

I don't understand why some dr's don't want to fix everything while in there. Acccording to my test I should have had a urethral suspension if I had my enterocele repair. I couldn't get a appt with the urologist that my dr works closely with. I have no idea why my dr. didn't call the urologist personally and tell him what he needed. If maybe not on the original surgery date, they would both have got repaired close to that date.I was also diagnosed with a small cystocele at my pre op meeting. Why in the heck my dr. didn't go ahead and fix it is beyond me. I don't want anymore surgeries, but it looks like I will need one down the road again.

PelvicFloor.Com does show some pretty graphic pictures. I think they are more the extreme cases. Mine looks more like the second picture, but not as big.

I hope we both get some answers soon.
