Exclamation - frequent urgent urination (up 14 to 20 Xper night) frequent urgent urination (up 14 to 20 Xper night)

3 years ago I began having frequent and urgent need to urinate. Never incontinence but the frequency did get worse. I was finally diagnosed with an inter uterine fibroid (size of a small watermelon). I had an embolization done without success, and finally had a hysterectomy. My problem never improved. I have eliminated caffein, limited fluid intake, limited hours of fluid consumption, nothing has had any impact.
I have been seeing a urologist for 1 1/2 years, tried detrol and unidet with no success. Have undergone various test that suggest my bladder is healthy and has a good capacity. Now he tells me there is nothing he can do for me, but I may want to consider augmetation cystoplasty. I do not believe that capacity is the problem, rather it is pressure that keeps me within sight of a bathroom at all times. I go as often as 30 times in a 24 hour period. I am up between 14 and 20 times per night, and cannot lay on my right side without immediate pressure. (I do not ever have dampness or leaking). I want to avoid this risky, extensive surgery.
I don't believe capacity is the problem. The urologist doesn't know what is wrong and has just dismissed me. I would appreciate hearing any information out there that can help me go in another direction with this problem. HELP!

Check out the site www.healthboards.com. I just did and looked up pelvic pain syndrome. What came up was an article on pelvic floor dysfunction. One of the main symptoms is frequency. The urologist and physical therapist who are studying this are in NY, but the article could still give you and your doctor ideas, even if you are not near there. The doctor said that people with the syndrome have basically normal bladder function when tested, but are basically spasming all the time.
