Anyone have repairs with mesh?

I'm almost 4 months post of from a TVH and kept having UTI's and yeast, burning and swelling in the vag area. Treated the UTI and yeast but kept hurting, swelly vag area.

Went to Dr today and it seems that part of my urethra has collapsed on my into the vag wall and thus all the feeling of fullness, etc. He will use a mesh patch to support the urethra and thus pull everything back up. I told him I wanted to look like a 17 yr old again down there when he through. It will be an outpatient procedure.

What should I expect from the mesh and what were your experiences. I cried all the way home as it's a bit overwhelming for me.

Bladder Mesh

Hi,
I also had a TVH and a bladder mesh due to bladder prolapse.
I bled a little from my uretherer for 4 weeks...no pain..a little strange feeling urinating but all is fine now. It's five weeks now since my surgery and the only thing Im having problems with are my Bowel movements.....I still can't go on my own without colace. To me....this is the worst part of the whole operation. Are you having any problems with your BMs?

I don't know if mine compares to yours. I had a TAH and Dr. used mesh for suspension during the surgery. I have not had any problems related to that yet. I am 10 weeks out today.

Take care. Speedy recovery.

Anyone have repairs with mesh?

Well these 2 replys are comforting to hear. I've had no potty problems with the hyst to begin with nor since. I'm going to have it fixed within the next 2 weeks or so as I'm in mind set now to get this OVER WITH. The strange part is that I'm in extremely good shape, 5'8 and only 127 and have never had kids and this
"usually" happens to folks who've had kids. I never did follow the norm!!

I have an extremely active life and I've been grounded since the TVH in Nov. and I'm getting a bit jumpy!!

I was just wondering how it felt to have mesh and could you feel it, like during sex, etc. I HAD a wonderful sex life until about....Nov 6th....things have been pretty slim lately.

Anyone have repairs with mesh?

Well..my hernia...not a full cystocele as the bladder seems to be ok....is urethral in nature is right now is small. Just fells lilke a supre dry tampon stuck about half way down in the vag. I can feel it with every step and by the end of my SUPER active, i'm hurting. So I'm gonna go ahead and get it done and be DONE! Cause if I don't it will only get worse and i don't have time for that! I've got over 28 questions for Dr when I see him for pre op. I had 45 before the actualy hyst so he's broke in. But the hernia was aggravating and caused the UTI/yeast problems. once we got those cleared up it was easier to find as small as it is.

I had him check me not on the table but with me standing up...that's when he went " ah hah" cause when you lay down things receed. Remember that ladies if YOU think something doesn't feel right, you're probably right. I've lost all modesty now and just about show my hiney to anyone. I told the Dr that if I got in a wreck and my " pu-nannie" was all that was left to identify....that he was the man to identify as he'd seen it enough in the last few months!

Looks like March 4th is my day! How long are your restricitons with this type of fix??

Well it's official...March 4th I'm back under the knife! This will make 3 surgery " dates" in less than 4 months.

yesterday i had to have nodules removed from my vocal cords , I got them due to the pneumonia I had just after the hysto in Nov.

I'm ready to be DONE

UTI and Yeast Infections Too

I had my hyster on Dec. 21 of 2004 plus a bladder suspension and rectum and vagina lift!!! The new bladder sling was supposed to stop my UTI but I've had 2 infections since which leads to yeast infections!!! I just don't know what to do??? I'm sick of the burning in itching!!! Sorry to hear about your problems. I'll be praying for you.
