Question - Bladder spasms? Bladder spasms?

Can someone please tell me just how a bladder spasm feels?
I am 5 weeks post TVT & adhesion lysis and last weekend it started like a period cramp down below the area where I had a suprapubic catheter following surgery (for location description only). My residuals were excellent in hosp. so the cath. was taken out in hosp. and I could void very well by myself for 5 weeks. It is still a cramping sensation (not specifically when I urinate, but there all the time whilst sitting) My gyno is away until next week and I spoke by phone to his practice partner (2 hrs away from me) and he said "spasms" and it will settle. I am taking Padadiene Forte for the pain (which is there only during the day - worse in the mornings - the nights are OK and I only get up once - which I have done since my son was born 29 rys ago). I am wondering if Ibuprofen would be better as PF is very constipating. I have been through so in the last 15 months I can't cope with anything else going wrong! If I know what it is I can cope. Any ideas? Please?

Bladder spasms?

Kerry...

When I had bladder spasms, it felt like lightning in my bladder. Sharp, stabbing pains. I also have had just a bladder ache, when I knew exactly where my bladder was from the ache. My uro gave me ditropan xl, and that helped with the spasms. I think the bladder ache was more from it being jostled around during surgery, and eventually that went away, too. It really just takes a bit of time for your bladder to settle back down, but each day should be a little better.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thumbs up - Bladder spasms? Bladder spasms

Hi,
I too am 5 weeks along since I had my hysterectomy. I went back to the doctor 2 days ago because I told him I was having like spasms or something between my legs. Kept coming and going. And LIke you I am fine at nite............little sore int he mornings and then starts in thru the day. He told me to take 400mg of Motrin every six hours around the clock for 10 days. Also to pee about every hour and try and keep bladder empty. He assured me it will pass. But like you I feel like its always something! The Motrin seems to be helping............hadn't had a spasm for 2 days till this afternoon and it wasn't near as bad as it had been. Hope this helps you~!
Linda
