First Golf Game After LAVH

I don't know how many golfers there are out there but just wanted to let those of you that do golf know how the first time back on the links was.

My Dr gave me clearence to start golfing again (18 days post op). I gathered up my courage and went yesterday. Much to my surprise nothing hurt! I took a few practice swings to make sure everything felt OK then played 18 holes. Of course I didn't walk the course and had a friend put my bag on the cart. I can't tell you how good it felt to be back on the course. The best part was not having to worry about having enough tampons and pads with me and wondering if I'd make it to the next bathroom before I had a leak.

First Golf Game After LAVH

That's great! I've been wondering about what effects my TVH would have on my game this year. I envisioned pain and a timid back swing. I'm supposed to travel to Palm
Springs to golf at about 5 weeks post op. (I had the same surgery date as you.) Thanks for sharing. I'm hoping I have the same experience May your drives be long and your putts be short. Happy golfing! Jujie

golfing

You did better than I did! My docs told me I could start chipping and putting after two weeks, then "real" golf after 4 weeks. But I had a TAH and full abdominoplasty.

I was approved for golf before sex!
It took me a couple of months to really swing loose and free. I was just not ready to do the twist thing with my poor beat up body. But I did walk a lot around the course at 2 to 4 weeks with 3 clubs-my putter, wedge and 7 iron. I got pretty good at those!

I am happy for you yet jealous too!!!! It is snowing and cold and I wish that I could be out on the course. I too wish you short putts and long drives. Last year I was in a tournament and bled through everything-quite an discouraging plus inconvenient. This year I hope to be a new woman!!!! By spring I will be ready to hit the links and like you, no more leaks or worrying about them!Have fun for yourself as well as for us northerners who must wait a few more months.

Well instead of golfing this time of year, we in the North have snowmobiling to keep us busy until the spring. I went out yesterday and today, it was a little bumpy but it felt soooo good to get all that fresh air. Belly is very swollen tonight and it is a bit pinchy inside but I feel great!
