dr might send me to a urologist before surgery

I had my endometrial bipass on thursday. And it went way ok..so thanks so much ladies for all the support!! It wasn't near AS BAD as what I WAS EXPECTING. And while I was at the Dr's office she said that I STILL have a bladder infection. And I've had it for about 2 months or longer and already been on two bouts of antibiotics to kick it out and it still hasn't gone away. So she thinks before the surgery that I should maybe go see a urologist. Anyone else had this problem? And if so..what do I expect???? I'm so lost and wayyy freaking out! I could use all the posts on this one to let me know if any of you can suggest anything! Thanks!!!!!! I love you all .. and love hystersisters for being around to help me get through this time in my life!!!!

I had the same experience you are having. I keep getting UTI's and my doctor sent me to a Urologist. At the first appointment he did a cystoscopy, which is inserting a scope and actually taking a look at the urinary tract and bladder. Then I had to have a catscan to see if there was any blockage etc... What he found was that I had kidney stones, which don't allow the kidneys to filter the urine the way that they should causing the infections. The stone never bothered me so we decided to wait and see if they would pass themselves--they were small so not a worry. I have only had one infection since the cat scan last May so I am assuming that they passed and I didn't even know it. I am having another cat scan in May as a follow up to be sure.
