swelly belly belt with tummy tuck

anyone know if you have a tummy tuck with the TAH/BSO, can you can use the swelly belly? i know i will have the drainage tubes until 7-9 days post op and i am wondering if these will be in the way and hinder the usage of the swelly belly?

swelly belly belt with tummy tuck

All I can speak from is my experience, so here it is:

I had a panniculectomy and I also had three surgical drains. They told me at my pre-op appointment that I would be sent home with a tummy binder (actually, they overlapped two of them for even more support), so I opted not to order the swelly belly band from HS.

I don't think I could have felt the coldness through the binders.

It's a personal choice of course. But with the drains (which I clipped to my tummy binder), the swelly belly band just didn't seem feasible for me.

However, if they *don't* give you binders, you may want the swelly belly band. But I really needed *something* for support, that's for sure!

Perhaps someone who had drains and used the band will come forward and share their experience.

The HysterSisters store gets orders for the Swelly Belly Band frequently from non-hystersisters....

from women who are scheduled for tummy tuck only.

The Swelly Belly Band isn't used the first week or so....not until the incision is healed over and the stitches and drains removed.

Its cold, jelly like, snug and feels good to most women who wear it for weeks. You can keep it in the frig or freezer to keep it cold between wearing.

Hope this helpS!
