Pray that it is not cancer

I went to the doctor on the 18th and told him of the pain I have been going through so he ordered a transvaginal ultrasound for the 24th, and I got a call that he needed to see me in his office Friday morning. That told me it was bad. He told me I had a tumor on my right ovary that was a little over 9 1/2 centimeters. He also said I had several on my uterus but they were not a concern. He doesn't think that the tumor is cancer because I am only 32. So now either on the 7th or 14th I will have a complete hysterectomy. He told me there is a possibilty I could wake up with a clostemy. So you can bet that I am frightened. my mom died 2 years ago from uterus cancer. So any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Pray that it is not cancer

Dear Chris,
Was the tumor actually on your ovary? My tumor was within the right ovary, and after my surgery it was diagnosed as benign. I wish the best for you. I have to say that unfortunately age does not matter in these cases. Hopefully your surgery will happen soon so you can at least know what you are dealing with. Try to stay strong and get that fighting attitude! It really does help. I got on the internet and scared myself silly before I knew exactly what type of tumor I had etc. My doctor said after my surgery to read only about my exact situation since there are different tumor types and they behave differently too.
God bless you, and continue to rely on your hyster sisters for support.

Hi Chris,

First, I'd like to add my prayers to you and {{hugs}} if you need them. Second, I have to agree with Donna about the age issue however did you Dr. happen to mention the texture of the "tumor"? From what I understand from my Gyn-Oncologist and the reading I've done is that if the "growth" is uniform in shape, smooth texture, etc the chances of it being benign are pretty good. If the texture is uneven and kind of bumpy looking (if that makes sense), the chance of malignancy is increased. However, they still won't know for sure until samples are taken and tested.

Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Vicki
