feeling nervous tonight

Dear sisters,
I'm in my 9th week.
I am feeling a little anxious tonight and just need some reassurance, I think. Anyway....I have done my walking - a little more than usual - in the last few days and this afternoon, I had a sharp pain where my left ovary was removed. (a sharp, quick pain). (I walk in our local mall - nice and flat and indoors, too. - not cold. )
Took a couple of tylenol and my DH did most of the dinner (I wanted to move around a little rather than sit). I know I need to take it a little easier. Helps to read that advice from others sisters.
The main thing is that I get so darn nervous and worrried about myself. Feel like a real chicken as the surgery (LAVH ) went great and I've been trying to hard to be a good patient.
Just needed to write about this some, sisters. Thanks for being there. I've gotten so much support from this site. I really appreciate it so much.
Just call me a nervous sister.

feeling nervous tonight

I'll be six weeks on Friday (LAVH, also) and find that my body reminds me when I've pushed it too far. I'll have a day where I feel totally great, then lift something that doesn't seem all that heavy, and TWANG! My doctor said that would be normal for a few months. We may be looking and feeling back to normal on the outside, but on the inside things are still getting used to the changes.

I hope you feel better tomorrow!

I'm only 1 week post-op, but I think it is only normal to feel nervous at times, considering what our bodies have endured. Think of the long term bonuses after your recuperation and smile because you will soon be over those hurdles!

feeling nervous tonight

Hi silversis - I know - it's worrisome to get those twangs that far along, but it seems to be pretty normal. I had some too at about the point where you are now, and from what I have read here, it could be just a little rearranging, such as a late stitch letting go, a small adhesion breaking away, or something like that.

If you were all of a sudden experiencing bleeding to go with that, then I'd be a little more worried. I was always very suprised when I'd get stabbed by a dagger all of a sudden - after weeks of nothing. I think, also, it could be nerves waking up. But if you need assurance, by all means - check with your Doc!

Great that you are walking! I think that when I was finally able to do some serious walking, that was when my recovery really took off! Just listen to your body - and you'll do fine.

& hope you're feeling better (and less nervous) soon! It gets better every day.

feeling nervous tonight

Dear sisters,
Thank you so much for your replies. It meant a lot to me to read these today. I am feeling better - my body is more comfortable and I am less nervous, thank goodness. (It was a little hard to admit to such nervousness at 9 wks., but you were all so nice that I didn't feel "dumb" at all today.)

Just reading that these pains are part of the healing really helped me. I guess my emotions just get going and whoa! nervous sis I become!

Anyway, am going to take it easy today and try to listen to my body more. (there was that temptation to walk too far and I did it - such a balancing act, at time, isn't it?)

Thank you, sisters!
