Now don't laugh but..

Had TAH in Aug. '04 and due to increasing problems with fluid retention such as eyelids swollen almost shut in mornings and now can't wear wedding ring the dr. lowered my Climara from .05 to .025. Now this is the don't laugh part...that very night I was checking the scale to see how much I've lost in fluid and would you believe none? :0)! Oh, I had such high hopes, uh? So my question is how long of a time frame do I give this new doseage before I will see any difference in the retention department? Ha, I'm at the week and a half point and being patient (?) is not my strongest point. Thanks for any input!!

I am retaining fluid also. Getting the salt out of my diet seems to have the most influence of how much water I am retaining.

My eyes are very puffy the morning following a Chinese take out dinner. It takes a 3-4 days of no salty indulgences for the water to get peed out for me.

Now don't laugh but..

I've been on HRT since long before my surgery since I went into early menopause almost two years ago. I am on Estradiol and have not had alot of retention issues except in the beginning. I do drink a TON of water daily...normally at least 64oz plus...and I also use greentea pills and some herbal stuff for water retention which seems to help....Give it some more time..and you can always check into the herbal stuff which is really mild.

Good luck!

P.S. to my earlier post."Now don't laugh"

Just spoke to my doctor's nurse and she said to take patch off for the weekend and see what happens. Does this sound reasonable to everyone or does it make you say NO DON'T DO IT? I am so grateful to have other women to ask these questions of. Thank you!!

Soul, I understand why they want you to take off the patch. Some forms of hrt cause water retention no matter what dosage you are on. Its just that particular form. So, they want to see if removing that patch makes a difference.
