Don't know where to turn

I had my hysterectomy in January of 2004. Since then i have been suffering depression and have been hospitalised after a suicide attempt. I am bipolar, diagnosed a long time ago. Right now i am feeling desperate again and not sure where to turn. I havent posted here in months because of my long hospital stay but have always found here a great source of support. My greatest problem is the thought of never having anymore children. I am 38 and have one son, who i know i was lucky to have due to infertility problems, he was an IVF baby. I had endometriosisand polycystic ovaries. Whilst having a hysterectomy was the best thing i could have done for my physical health my mental health has taken a battering. All i can think of right now is taking my months prescription of medication in one go. I know this is crazy. Anyways thanks for listening to me

Don't know where to turn

Bless your heart, Abbi!

I know that I may not say the right thing, but I just wanted you to know that your life is awesomely valuable. Your son needs you along with all of us here.

Please, please talk to your doctor. Is there someone you're close to that will help you through this rough time?

I'm sorry my words are inadequate, but please, PLEASE call your doctor, a friend or a family member!

Don't know where to turn

I want to add my here, too.

I have been in your shoes. I somehow found the courage to drive myself to an emergency room, and they kept me for three days while they stabilized me and got me some long-term help, including medication. You're familiar with the routine, so I don't have to outline it for you.

You need to be safe, hon. If the best way for you to be safe (and therefore around for that beautiful ds you have) is to go to a hospital now -- then you need to do it.

Please don't delay. I'll be praying for you. Take a deep breath and make the call.

Don't know where to turn

That happened to me too...and I'm here for you too....it is so hard to cope with the many changes that one has to go through..and emotionally it can really cause you to "crash and burn" without proper help and therapy..so please don't delay in reaching out to those around you...your little son is so precious...and he is worth everything! I know how difficult it is...I had to seek serious mental health care due to my fistula...I couldn't cope with the emotional state I was in...and I felt like I was going to remain like that forever, and couldn't even see the future...email me ... if you would like to talk to me...love and prayers kat (P.S that happened to me 3 yrs ago and Im doing fine now...just some ups and downs and I come here to talk and that helps a lot)....hang in there dear! love and prayers....kat
