i am 1 year post op today......the clothes do eventually fit again, the pain goes away, and you do loose the weight. thanks for the reminder of my hysterversary although it is not something you forget. i was a little weepy today just reflecting back but i wiped my tears and got on with my life. it does get better. those of you with swelly belly, it takes months but just remember when you get back in those jeans they are filled with you not pads and tampons. good luck and god bless and hang in there it truly does get better.

1 year!
I'm one year today too - and have to admit I feel physically & mentally better than I have for years.
I weigh about 10 pounds more than I did a year ago - not really thrilled with that, but hoping spring being around the corner will help with that.
I have absolutely no regrets - and I love having my life to myself....not having to plan it around periods and pain.

1 year post op
Congratulations!!! I'm 11 months, and counting. Funny how counting weeks turned into months, not so very long ago......
For some reason, even though life has been great, I think I shall be able to finally move on, once I hit that magical year mark, too.
This time last year, I was scared for my life! Since then, things have gone quite well, and quickly................even started a diet/exercize routine and am losing weight I should have banished years ago. I still blame every little ache and pain, flu, virus, or any other assault to my immune system on that surgery, though.... .
Nevertheless, it is all becoming a bittersweet memory, praise God. Have a whole new sense of being able to accomplish even more than originally thought.
Am glad to hear you've wiped away the tears, Princess. Nice to have you as a Hystersister! s, Deb
