Curiously Searching

Hello! Im and currently waiting for my sugery date, I am unsure of exactly what will be done. But I have a ton of questions. I was hoping to find out the guildline that others were given for pre-op and post op. Specificaly hospital stay time, restrictions, what to expect ect. Some questions I found answers to on the pre-op posts. But I still have many running through my inquisitive mind. I am curious about everything envolved is pre and post op. In my situation, I have a divorce looming but my husband is still willing to assist me in my recovery and care for the 3 lil ones I have at home. Im all ears for anyone who wishes to share their wisdome! And I have to say thank you to the creator of this site. For now I dont feel so alone.

Hi Tigress

First of all, take a deep breath! Many of us have gone before you, and are here to help.
Most of your questions can be answered by reading the Pre-op and Post-op articles under the Resources section of this site. If you have specific questions, just jump on in and ask.

Nothing is too personal, or silly. We all have questions, and need answers during this difficult time.

You should find tons of love and support here.

Many s

Hi Tigress,

It seems like the hospital stays, pre-op stuff, etc varies with Dr to Dr and hospital to hosptial, region to region - well you see the pattern here!

What type of surgery are you having? I'm having a TAH/BSO on 3/29 and my dr has told me 2 nights in the hosptial, 6 weeks before I can come back to work or work out.

Remember that we are all sisters in this and to ask any questions you want. It funny that any question I had had just been asked and I got to read all the posts.

Take care,
JAS

Thank you!

Thank you for the replies! Im in the stage of I dunno My dr recently contacted me to let me know that my sugery will be in approx. 6 weeks. It will be a partial hys. Leaving the ovaries and tubes in. Due to numerous fibroids, pain, heavy clotting periods we together made this choice of the partial hyst. Thats all I have for sugery info for now. But I have taken notes of questions I plan to bring when I get my pre-op appointment. And I know I will have a ton more to add here. Thank you all again!
