I had a hysterectomy almost two years ago for endometriosis. For about the last eight months - I have noticed a major change in my personality - loss of energy, less libido, foggy brain and just not the person I know myself to be. I used to be a "career" woman and just don't care about that anymore. I am happily married and my DH is very caring and supportive (thank goodness)
I used to be more social, love to be around people - a do do do kinda person. Now I have to force myself sometimes to go out and many times I just can't be bothered....feel very draggy.
Have been to the naturopath but the remedies so far (tried quite a few) have none have provided any definite improvement. Had a complete physical and all my bloodwork is excellent. I have both my ovaries so I am not struggling with surgical menopause although I have perimenopausal symptoms (I am 42).
My endo has come back with an endometrioma in my right ovary so I am having that removed in about 4 weeks but plan to keep my left if it healthy for fear of diving into surgical menopause.
I'm so sorry to hear you are not feeling yourself. Your symptoms of loss of energy, reduced libido, personality changes and "brain fog" are all among those listed for menopause...although they certainly may be caused by other conditions as well.
Have you described all these symptoms to your physician? Maybe your estrogen level is declining. I hope that you find the solution to your distress. I'm sending positive thoughts your way!
I know you said you had blood work, but did they do a thyroid panel? hypo thyroid and menopause have some of the same symptoms. Hope your feeling better soon. I am 8 wks post op, on HRT and thyroid replacement and feeling better than I've felt in a long time.
