Surgery Scheduled!

OK, after years of putting up with MAJOR mid-cycle cramps, HEAVY bleeding I finally said something had to change when it became too painful to have intercourse! (I have a tilted uterus which put my fibroids at "ground zero", so to speak)

So, after an ultrasound showed much enlarged fibroids, and an ovarian cyst, we decided that "everything must go!"

And, now, planning the surgery around a trip to China (!) and projects at work, it's going to happen May 3!

A little nervous, but everyone I've talked to who's done this says "I can't believe I waited so long to do it!"

So, I'm hopful...

The message board to start out on is the one called Pre-Op Hysterectomy Support. Ask questions, post concerns and get to know other Ladies-in-Waiting and post-op Sisters there. Once you are back home recovering from surgery the Post-Op message board will be the one to use.

There are other message boards and features waiting to be discovered. Don't be shy about asking for help if you need it. We're a friendly group!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I have browsed through many of the areas, and will definitely be "hanging out" in the pre-op section. I also ordered (and received) the book, which has been very helpful and encouraging.

I'm not really scared or anything - mostly just looking forward to having it OVER, and hoping that my quality of life drastically improves!
