Lupron and me

I have been on Lupron now for 2 months in preperation for my April 20 LAVH and thought someone may be interested in what side effects I have experienced (everyone is different, of course). Hot flashes started almost immediately after the first shot. Fortunately I haven't had night or day sweats just a shot of heat followed by the chills. It is worse at night and has made it difficult to sleep for longer than a half hour at a time but at least I haven't sweated all over the bedding! I have some mental forgetfulness and "fuzzy thinking" at times. Also some anxiety, am jittery at times and sometimes melancholy and fearful. Comes and goes but doesn't last long. I had a period after the first shot but not the second. Lots of cramping after the first shot but less after the second. I have had a couple days of nausea and lightheadness. I had lots of headaches after the first shot but they have went away after the second shot. I think that is about it for now. I have my third and last shot on April 4 then surgery. I will be interested to see what I experience after surgery compared to after the Lupron shots.

Lupron and me

Hi Kscop,

I did (3) months of lupron shots to shrink my fibroids for my LSH.

Yep...I had some of those lupron symptoms you mentioned!! A wild ride, that is for sure!!!!!

I had my last lupron symptoms right before my LSH. I kept my ovaries and they have been working great since my hyst. I have seen some lupron ladies post that they continued to have lupron symptoms for several weeks after their hyst.

I am 11 months post-op and I am actually having PMS today. Tender breasts and some consitipation. Sometimes I get mild irritability. And....just no aunt flow when all is said and done!!

Good luck with your LAVH. I am very pleased with my surgery results.

Lupron and me

Hi,
I had my third Lupron shot today. In between the 2nd and third shot my operation was cancelled and by the time I had my third shot it was 2 1/2 weeks late. It was like starting all over as far as the side affects that you mentioned that you had. It is important to try to keep myself from getting a period between now and the next operation date. which is probably in another 1 1/2 to 2 months.
