watch out for those UTI's!
I have never had a UTI in my life--but I have one now! 4 weeks out from my TVH-LSO, and I'm thinking that the discomfort I was feeling when I urinate is lasting too long--I should feel better by now, right? Well, I finally called my doctor today, described my symptoms, and they said to come in and they would take a urine sample. Uh huh....UTI, now on antibiotics. I never had one, so I didn't know how it felt. Now I do!
Moral of the story--if you aren't sure, call your doctor.

watch out for those UTI's!
Dear isewquilts,
Good job and a good reminder for all of us. For some reason "we" women are so against calling the dr. I'm glad you found out the problem and are getting better.

watch out for those UTI's!
Oh those UTI's are terrible. I developed one 4 days post-op. Wasn't sure at first because I came home with a catheter. I just knew something wasn't right and if the catheter wasn't in then I would have definitely known I had a UTI. Went to my dr on Monday, did a urine test which came back questionable, started me on antibiotics, culture came back positive. So much fun. I', just glad I had enough presence of mind to notice. (You know, with all the pain meds and such) Wishing everyone a speedy recovery!

Good for you on calling the doctor. The only way to truly get rid of a UTI is medicine, and the relief is usually after one dose. I thought the catheter might also cause a problem for me at the hospital so as I asked for cranberry juice. I drank it while in the hospital and now have one glass a day. So far I have avoided getting a UTI.
