Surgery Moved Up!!

Hi all. well doc moved my surgery up to April 14th. I know its only one day, but I have to say I getting more nervous now than I was. This sounds crazy coming from someone who knows that hysterectomy is the only option I have left, but I am feeling a sense of loss. I know I can't have anymore children even without TAH but I am still sad today. Is this normal? I also know that my life will greatly improve after surgery( no more pain etc.) still at times I want to cry. I've known for years I needed a hysterectomy but I've put it off. I can't do that anymore. I must sound totally selfish for I know some women never have children, but I had to vent. I don't mean to hurt anyones feelings( I read the rules about posting about children) but it hurts and I needed someone to relate. So enough self pity for today, thanks for listening to me. You all are truely wonderful, caring women and I am so glad I found this site. Sorry so long. Thanks again for letting me vent.

Surgery Moved Up!!

Hi There!

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling sad today. A hysterectomy can be a very emotional surgery, and it's very common to undergo spells of sadness both pre-op and post-op. Even women who never wanted to bear children often feel a sense of loss -- it's entirely normal to feel this way.

I'm sending positive thoughts your way!
