Dealing with Restless Leg Syndrome?

I have struggled with RLS for years and it happens to be worse right now than it has been in a long time...my normal remedies aren't working. In the last couple days, when the abdominal pressure keeps going on and on and on...I just HAVE to get up and move around. I feel like I will scream if I just sit there. I just have to relieve the "heebie jeebies." I am trying to think what in the WORLD I am gonna have to deal with post op when I need to get up and I am in my first week post op or something.

Anyone else deal with this?

Dealing with Restless Leg Syndrome?

I also have RLS and for me I did not have any problems till around week 3--for whatever reason it seemed to have gone away for a little bit--

Good Luck

Dealing with Restless Leg Syndrome?

I used to deal with RLS as well. I contributed it to either my slow thyroid or from taking ibuprofen every day for tendonitis. Seems it has quit since my thyroid level is back on track and I had a cortizone shot for my tendonitis. Just what remedies are you trying?

Best Wishes
Tamara

Dealing with Restless Leg Syndrome?

Tamara,

So far I have been able to keep it under control with larger does of Calcium/Magnesium. That has worked until recently. I know it can be related to low iron levels, but my hct last week was 12.5, so it shouldn't be that. I did start on a half dose of Slow Fe a few weeks ago, now that I think of it, when things started getting worse with the RLS and with my bl**ding getting more severe with each cycle.

I am also finding out that if I stay up too late, it will hit me when I go to bed...like an overtired, overstimulated baby who cannot fall asleep despite what you do. so going to be before I get extrememly tired helps. Funny though, I don'g sleep any longer...I just wake an hour earlier!

Thanks for the suggestions.
