GREAT use for those un-needed pads!

This is great....it's enviromentally good etc. Take those old pads and put them in the bottom of your flower pots, hanging baskets, flower beds, etc.

The reason behind this is that the " stuff" that green houses place in potting soil to hold water is basically the same thing that is in the pads or, baby diapers for that fact ,to hold moisture in.

Before you put them in the containers, etc make a couple of cuts long-ways to allow the water to get in. So, this summer when it's dry your plants will be nice and damp....like you USED to be!!

It works! My Mom told me about this and I tried it on a house plant and it worked great. So I'm doing it in my pots for the outside porch areas etc.

Just thought I'd share!

Hi

That is a great idea! Especially with spring here and getting ready to get those flower pots filled! Thanks for sharing!

GREAT use for those un-needed pads!

Yeah...you should have seen the looks on some neighborhood boys I hired to " fluff" up some beds of evergreens!!! I handed them to them and told them to place them at the base of the roots of the bushes, cause this summer it will get dry!!

They were so funny....acted like they were afraid to touch " them" !!!!

Of course, that inspired me to find more things for them to do with the pads!!!! It was great entertainment!!
