Testosterone Compound

My doctor put me on compound Testosterone this week. I was on Estradol for 2 years. I switched drs and he put me on Estratest half strength because of low libido. I still wasn't getting anywhere. I was recommended to another doctor who was absolutely fantastic! She did a complete blood work-up (which is something I had asked of 2 previous drs and was laughed out) I was told it was probably psychological.

Anyway, blood tests came back -- practically no estrogen and extremely low testosterone. She gave me Vivelle Dot so it can be absorbed directly to the bloodstream and sent me to a compound pharmacist for testosterone 2%.

By question is -- Has anyone had any experience with the compound tesosterone? Does it work? Any side effects? How long do I wait until I feel some difference?
I am scared to death of side effects. Please respond!!!

Testosterone Compound

Hi Jackie!

I've been using compounded testosterone for quite a while now. The worst side effects I've had are oily skin and hair when my levels got too high. I simply cut back on the amount I used and how often I used it and the symptoms went away. You'll want to be aware of the symptoms of too much testosterone and you can find them in this link.

It's going to vary from woman to woman but I noticed a difference within a few days' time. It took a few weeks to feel the full effects. Is yours a cream? Do you have directions on where to apply it? You can check out this link for suggested application sites. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure they are okay for you.

I hope you have good luck with your testosterone! Keep us posted, okay?

Testosterone Compound

Thank you for the info. My doctor said to apply an 1/8 of a tsp every other day on the vulva. Do you think I should rotate the area for maximum effect?

I am looking forward to feeling "sexy" again. I forgot how it feels to "want my husband" I was actually starting to believe the other drs. that "I should see a sex therapist"

Thank you again. This site is the best!!! I'm happy to be home again! It's been too long!

Testosterone Compound

Hi again!

When I first started using testosterone cream I applied it only on the vulva/clitoris. After I used it for about a month I started applying it on other accepted sites.

Experiment with it and see what works best for you!
