not losing weight
(((Bonnie))),
Congrats on quitting!!!
I am not on any HRT. I had two sisters with breast cancer, so I don't consider that an option for me , but I do not have any menopausal issues at all anyway.(At this time!) I believe hrts can cause wt issues but not speaking from any experience. I know how I gained my wt when I quit. I rewarded myself with whatever I wanted. I never had wt issues- so I figured I could fix that easier.( Huh, not impossible, but not quite easy ) Smoking is not an option.
Wt issues are frustrating in and of themselves, add to that menopausal symptoms and HRTs and it's not hard to see there could be some problems. The chemistry in your body has been through, and is adjusting to, a lot. When you communicate your concerns to your DR they can address the issues with regards to what your taking. I'm glad you have the appointment.
I think you will need to be very flexable for a while.
Don't expect everything at once. It's not an exact science, so you will need to tweek things a bit. Try to make what you eat count nutritionally. At least you won't be compounding a tempory problem.
I wish I could be of more help- I wish all the best to you.
P.S. It always amazes me how little food we actually need- watch serving sizes for a bit to get an idea.
