Funny feeling?

Hello everyone,

I am 4 weeks post-op and I have noticed that when I sit down I have a funny feeling down below. Like a tampon is in there wrong. Not all the time but sometimes and I have a constant left sit pain. I finally called the Dr. and I have a appt today at 11:30 a.m.

Any one else have this feeling?

Funny feeling?

I was just going to post the exact same question! I had a TVH with repair on 3/17/05. Before sugery, if I used a tampon it would always slide down to the opening (too much info?). That's what it feels like now...sitting or standing. I thought that maybe it was just the inside stitches healing. I would appreciate any info on this.

Thanks!!

Funny feeling?

Ladies,

I had the SAME thing and when I spoke to my wonderful DR about it she said it was due to swelling, but I would recomend that you seek the advice of your DR also. Two Motrin was enough to make that "funny" feeling go away for me!

funny feeling

I just returned from my wonderful Dr. I felt like a idiot and started crying telling him that I think I did something wrong that I feel like I am sitting on a tampon.

Here is his reply. He did a pelvic and said everything was normal but it was very tender. Still have stitches and said that I am doing to much. He would not release me for work until the 6 weeks are up. He said that this is part of the healing process and it will go away with time. NO sex for 6 weeks or anything in the vagina. ( I started to laugh) When he said nothing in the V.....

Regarding the left side pain, his explanation was that when you have an abdominal hysterectomy you cut through many layers and in my case I have stitches 1 inch below the top incision with a knot at each end. That can cause the pain like feeling when I overexert myself and it will pull. That too wil go away with time. He told my NOT to lift anything over 15 lbs for at least another 4 weeks. He asked about my emotions (I thought that was nice) and told him that I have bouts of crying over the loss of my female organs at 47 yrs old and worried about the hormone therapy and loss of bone mass. That reply was: That is why you are on a hormone therapy (Climara 0.075 mg) and will continue to monitor me every 6 months.

I feel better going and getting reassured. I will continue to say this that I am glad that I found all of you. It helps knowing that we all understand each others needs and cares.

I can tell you though that work will not be too happy about this but I figure, for once in my life I come first.

God Bless!
Caboose

P.S. I choose Caboose as being the last daughter in a family of 6 children.
