"Looking forward to benefits, but chicken!"

Hey Francis... when life hands you that "chicken", I say fry it, bake it, roast it or BBQ it. The worst of all of this is the waiting. Put your mind at ease the best you can and keep that chin up. We're here to help ya if you need it. :inlove:

Boy, do I know that "deer in the headlights" look. Hahaha... My darling hubby started my recovery with a bang. Delivers my first home cooked meal... Campbells soup UNdiluted. Yuck! If that wasn't bad enough we were pounded with an ice storm the next day and were without power, HEAT and phone. Talk about feeling like we were stranded on a frozen island. Sheesh! Thank God for quilts, blankets and 5 dogs.

Welcome aboard sister!

You can expect easier than you think

Hi,

I had a TAH/BSO on January 29 and came home this past Sunday. The procedure is not horrible, not to be feared. I've had plenty of periods that were worse, and this only gets better.

I'm still taking it very easy and intend to do so for some time. The biggest thing is to avoid lifting or reaching, driving until you can do so comfortably, and getting plenty of rest even when you're feeling better. I just read on the board somewhere today that at 6 weeks you are 40% healed, 100% healed at six months. So healing is definitely a relatively lengthy process, although by no means are you incapacitated.

If you have specific questions, feel free to post them or email me or someone else. Everyone here is happy to answer questions as best they can.
