suprises after having surgery, is somthing major wrong with me

I am a little nervous about the unknown.....I have had a ct scan, numerous pelvic exams, transvaginal ultrasound(finding a small cyst on one ovary and slightly enlarged uterus), and a hysteroscopy with biopsy. I was told that I have adenomyosis and polyps with possible endo. I went to gyn for debilitating pain with periods and heavy bleeding first couple of days. Now I also realize I have much abdominal bloating and I have also had nausea for months. I had abdominal bruising at my umbilical area with a few of my perios as well.

With all this I guess I am most scared of my upcoming SAH that because of the pain I have with my oeriods, I cannot sit or stand when I first get my period, that they will find something really wrong with me, like cancer or that all my organs are messed up or something.

Anybody else have similiar thoughts or am I just going nuts here. I am scheduled for 4/13.

Thanks, I so enjoy this site and all the "sisters" I have found. Most positive experience.

Lisa,

I'm know what you're talking about here, I've had that fear floating around in the back of my mind too. But I'm trying to accept that they've done all these tests, as they have with you, and the odds are if there was anything else there to worry about it would have been found by now.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Hi Lisa!
I feel exactly the same way. I am scheduled to go in on 4/26. I keep on telling my mom "What if they go in there and they find my bladder stuck to my other organs, or my ovaries are diseased, or cancer?" But, I guess I would rather know than live with all of the pain, etc.

I think it's normal to feel this way...it's sort of the unknown, even though they have done tests, ultrasounds, etc. I guess they "really don't know until they get in there."

You are not alone in your thoughts...just try and think positive! That's what I'm doing (although easier some days than others!)

Best wishes!

I have exactly same fears and have burst out into tears in public sometimes because of it. I am normally a rational person but I feel so debilitated by these feelings.

Frasier....... I am scheduled for same day as you ...... how about a race down to the operating theatre? Ready, steady.......go.

((( Lisa ))), you sound pretty normal to me - I'd think that you were unusual if you said that you weren't a bit nervous about this major surgery . My emotions were all over the place while I was waiting for my hyst. It's been almost 3 years now, all worked out well for me. I'll pray for a good outcome for you also.

It would be a help if you'd go to your profile and add your surgery date. That would also include you in the best wishes for that day.
