Bleeding after almost 2 1/2 years cancer free

Hi

I had a radical hysterectomy Dec. 5, 2002 . for cervical cancer. I had my uterus cervic and part of my vagina taken out. They left my overies. They got all the cancer out and i did not have to have any radiation or chemo. But i lost total use of my bladder because of nerve damage. i now have to self catherise myself . i am ok with that because they got the cancer tumer out. i also lost alot nerve damage to my inner thighs and my left upper thigh. but my problem now is that almot after 2 and 1/2 years of being cancer free all of a sudden after intercourse this time i had major blood coming out and a blood clot. This has just started this week and i have phoned my doctor but i can't get my appointment moved up yet. i have to wait till next week till anyone can get back to me. They told me not to worry because it is almost stopped now and go to hospital if it starts to bleed heavy again. Dose anyone know of this happening to anyone else. I am worry every day that it will come back and now this makes me terrified.

I am so sorry that you are having to wait for that appt.!! Not knowing can be the scariest thing. Do whatever it takes to keep focused on positive things. I do know that is sometimes easier said than done, but even though I don't have any medical answers - I will definitely be praying for you and your situation. Let us know the good report!!

Hi,
I am very sorry you are dealing with this. If I had major bleeding, I would not want to wait until next week but would want someone to check things out soonest. Waiting over the weekend to get someone to get back to you next week does not seem quite appropriate. Did you speak with the doctor or his staff? Perhaps you can at least request that the doctor calls you back; he may be able to allay some of your fears.
Please let us know how you make out.

HI

Thank you for your prays . I just found out that they think the cancer is back..I have to go for a cat scan to see if it has spread or not. Then radiation so far. I am still keeping a positive mind and hoping that it hasn't spread.

Thank you again and i will keep you posted.

I am sorry you are having to go through this...I can only imagine...it is our worst fear, but hopefully it is not the cancer and if so, they have caught it early. I will be praying for you and hope you will let us know when you have some results. Did you ever actually talk to the doctor or how did you know that they think it is back? Take care and let us know how it goes.

for you.
