making the hormone patch stay stuck

About a month ago there was the discussion on how to make the thing stay stuck. I finally figured it out - after a number of severe rashes under it, and always ending up with tape stuck all over it. Just clean with alcohol the area where you are going to apply it, let it dry, apply the thing, then keep your hand flat over it holding it down for a few minutes. Since I started with the alcohol, it hasn't come off even once - and no more severe itchy readness.

And I can't keep mine on if it is on my abdomen. Put it on hips, buttocks, upper thighs, no problem (Make sure it is a hairless area, or shave REAL good on the area!) My biggest thing was figuring out at what position am I stretching the skin here? Sitting? Standing? Then apply in that position. I end up with a wrinkled looking patch standing, but it stays ON when sitting.

I cannot wear them on my abdomen because I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and bloat EVERY day. The patch moves several inches a day, and ends up in weird spots like in the pubic hair, the area where your thighs meet abdomen, and you stand up and the skin pulls... you end up leaving adhesive where it WAS, and it stays sticky.

SIGH... Hips it is.

I agree with the post about using alcohol. I use the Vivelle Dot, which I hear adheres well with less irritation anyway, and is very small. But I clean an area with alcohol, it dries, then I apply the patch and hold my hand over it about 30 seconds. It hasn't budged yet, and I have no irritation. I even got in the jacuzzi with it, fearing the worst, and it did fine!
