belly band question

Just wondering if swelly belly was a big problem for woman who have vaginal hysterectomies? Is the belly band just for women with abdomenal incisions or does it help after a vaginal hyst? I am having a vaginal hysterectomy with A&P repairs and want to be as prepared as possible.

I don't have the answer, but I wanted to know the same thing I am having a TVH and bladder sling in early July.

I had my pre-op for LAVH today and my doc. said I do not need the tummy binder thing- he told me that only the abdominal surgeries needed it-

I had already priced them and decided which one to buy!
