premarin/grapefruit/Mentalfog

Hello all you princesses,

I had surgery Jan 10 2005. I'm on premarin.9 I take it in the morning. I have in the last 2 weeks been waking up about 3 hours before I would like to get up with Hot fashes not real bad but I can't seem to get back to sleep. I also have had I guess mental fog. I just forget what I was doing Or at work I will just stand there and space out.

I was also prescribed the premarin cream for vaginal dryness March 29th 05 Both seem to be working great. Except for the hotflashes recently. And the mental fog has been mostly since I started back at work February 22, 05.

I quit smoking Feb.18,05 At first I was thinking the mental fog was cause I quit smoking and I feel lightheaded and strange the first week or 2. But now I realize it may be because I'm not getting enough estrogen?????? I feel better than I have in years
but I have gained about 10 pounds since I quit smoking I see all the post of people gaining like 60pounds in 5 monthes I want to lose the 10 pounds before I gain to much weight . I started this diet that has grapefruit juice or half a grapefruit during meals and I just got my presciption for premarin and read the cautions side effects etc. And it says grapefruit or grapefruit juice may increase the amount of this medicine in my bloodsteam and may cause side effects but it doesn't say what the side effects are??? I've been doing the diet for like 3 days and I don't really notice any difference (side effect wise) Does anyone have experience with this?? The second day I did have a bloated feeling, like to much gas And I took some gasx and it went away.

I would also like to know about anyone that has or had the mentalfog problem and got it fixed or what they did differently hormone wise?? The hotflashes really aren't a big deal to me I feel sooooo much better than I ever have before. But the spacing out thing is kind of getting to me. I work in a bakery and this last week I put something in the oven and one of my workers started talking to me and we went into the other room and I forgot to shut the oven door. I can't be doing stuff like that, My products won't turn out right. HELP ANYONE????

Thanks Kayline
P.S. Finally had sex with DH It has been a year since we have had complete intercourse It was wonderful !!! I went to work next day and it was like a viagra commercial "Did you get your haircut?? Did you lose weight?? Etc. etc. No I had great sex for the first time in a year PRICELESS Thanks for listening ladies

Grapefruit and/or juice contains quercetin, which might affect the absorption of oestrogen.
If you google quercetin, you'll find more information out regarding it. It could upset the balance of your HRT.
