Hi ladies..

I am 6 days post op today and just recieved word my pathology report is in. Cancer free!! I did have a large fibroid in my uterus and endoemetriosis was found on my right ovary and tube. This is wonderful.

For all LIW's hang in there. The waiting is truly the worst. I know it sounds so cliche and when I was in your shoes I thought.. jeez would they shut up they are done already easy for them to say..

It does get better. I won't lie and say once the surgery is done all is well. It is not true. The recovery is hard. I have been lurking on the post op boards though and am learning that there is a light at the tunned. Be ready for some discomfort but this is major surgery. But be ready cause soon you will have your life back.

If anyone needs to talk PM or email me. I do nothing but play on my laptop and sleep for the next few weeks. Look forward to seeing you all on the other side.

What wonderful news about being cancer free ! It is truly a scary time.

I am scheduled to have surgery 4-27. I have moments when I feel really brave, strong and NOT scared, but then I think about what is about to happen, I get weak . I did take someone's advice from the post-op's board, and I have scheduled a full 90 minute body massage on Tuesday 4-26. I figured this would help to relax me and get the knots out before I become inactive. I , too, have a fibroid ( I call it my puppy ). It is about 9 cm. I tell people at work that I have carried the puppy to full term and that I am having a "C" section to have the puppy removed.

How much pain are you in ? What would you compare it too ? I had my tubes tied, but that is the only surgery that I have ever had. I don't quite know what to expect. My bedroom is upstairs in our house. How is it going up and down stairs ?

I hope your recovery goes smooth. I can't wait to be on the other side !

Later,

The pain is rough I won't lie but I am not a textbook case. I had severe complications. I posted my hystory, but I won't say here because I don't want to scare anyone. Please feel free to read the other post.

I have had a c-section in the past and will say it is comprable. I have had a laproscopy as well, however it is a little worse than that but not to terrible. Make sure the first week you take all pain meds as prescribed and you will make it ok. I have a few stairs here and I am not bothered at all going up and down them. Sometimes it even feels good to get the legs moving so I will go down once and up and then back to the recliner to rest.

With everything I went through, I still think this was the best thing for me.
