vivelle dot, estrace, premarin

Hello Girls!
Just wondering if any of you have had weight gain with the v-dot? I had no weight gain with Premarin, but have gained after changing to the dot; my belly has always been flat but now it stays bloated.
Also wondering if anyone has switched from premarin or v-dot to estrace and what you think about the estace?
Thanks for your responses! Have a great day!

vivelle dot, estrace, premarin

I started Premarin 1.25mg. in February. I have always had a fairly flat stomach, but now, I have the swelly-belly thing going on. Don't like it one little bit. I have not had any other complaints with Premarin. As a matter of fact, I feel really good. No hot flashes, sweats, nothing. I am going to call my gyn tomorrow and ask about switching to Estrace, since I have read that it is the most "weight friendly" HRT. He might not agree with me, and I sure don't want to have menopause symtoms start, but this weight thing bothers me. Just thought I would let you know that Premarin can cause that.

vivelle dot, estrace, premarin

Hi

During my early post-op months I started out on oral Estrace and did not have much relief from low estrogen symptoms. I switched to Vivelle Dot and have been on it for over two years now with good results.

Over the last 3 months or so I've had about 6 - 8 pound weight gain but I believe it's due not sticking with a regular exercise program rather than Vivelle. For me at least, maintaining my desired weight has more to do with my diet and exercise regimen.

Here are a couple of articles that you might find interesting re:

Hi Guys! It's Wonderwoman1 again.
Thanks for your responses, and I welcome more of them, please! Bowowpal, tell me more about estrace being "weight friendly" compared to other HRTs if you don't mind. That sounds good to me!!!

I was on Premarin for almost 7 years and was totally ignorant to all this hormone information. (Until, of course, I discovered Hyster Sisters!) I had weight gain, too, especially in the abdomen. Then I switched to Vivelle dot and saw the swelly belly go down for a while. Then it started returning, plus I grew weary of the dot. Several weeks ago I switched to Estrace, well actually estradiol (generic version), and I've noticed the decrease in swelly belly again, plus I've lost a few pounds. Naturally, I'm happy now, but it remains to be seen whether swelly belly and pounds will reappear. I, too, would like to know more about estrace being weight friendly. It is truly a trial and error game!
