Morning

Well…. Different day/some same stuff going on –

No one hired yet for my group at work… so by the time I get home I’m fried. Maybe “they” will have someone hired by the time I get back from my vacation in May. I thought if I set my vacation time, that would encourage them to complete the search more quickly… oh well. So... no stress relief anytime soon here I do have to mention that since I’m so busy, eating is not a priority – had lunch around 2:30 yesterday – which I brought from home. Walking though has gone down to my all time low as I’m tied to a phone most of the day.

I started PT last week, and will go again today & tomorrow. I’m just so happy to have another opportunity to strengthen my “core”… found out that my lower back issue is chronic… so I’ll be making adjustments after completing PT. One of the changes is to stop my Curves membership – having to move off the equipment so quickly has me not paying attention to my movements.

DH has joined a Gold’s gym & I have a temp 7 day pass. I went on Sunday & met the girl that did his training… she has a vast background, in addition to being a personal trainer, & gave me the info I need to give her when I’m cleared to join. She can then take over from where PT leaves off. I really liked the feel of the gym & think that this will work.

Fran… I just love reading the antics that occur in your household… never know what you’ll write about next! A dead rat…YUCK! But, I bet the dogs were really proud of themselves

Melissa… doggie parties!! My DD – the one in Texas – is in business doing doggie parties – cakes, cookies, party goods, etc. And, they are doing quite well. I’ll have to send you the link to their website… too cute. CONGRATS…glad you had such a great check out at the Dr’s office!!!

Margo… good luck with the detox…

Sandi… you go girl!! So committed to your walk!!

Nancy… sounds like you had a great weekend, in spite of the weather…crazy stuff!!

Llyn… I hear you about the water retention…there’s so many things our bodies do after surgery…which was one of the reasons I really was very hesitant about the hyster. Just never know what the “side effects” will be.

Emily…you sure have been struggling recently with you plateau…keep your goals in mind…they will come. Glad to hear your DH’s test were great!!

MLee…wardrobe crises are the worst…and they seem to happen just when you are getting ready to go out!! Glad you made the BEST of it, and have been able to come up with outfits for future outings…

Well… off to the “w…o…r…k” place – at least I’m off ½ of Thursday and all day Friday this week… looking forward to some down time.

Take care…

Sue

Hello Sue and everyone else to follow! Thought i'd pop in here before I forget again. I have had a lot on my mind lately and the really seems to kick in. Thought I posted yesterday and actually it was Sunday. DD is having her wisdom teeth out Friday of next week. I think her part will be easier then coming up with all of the $$ these dentist want. Dental insurance is pretty crappy! I could go to town on that subject alone!!!:burning:
Last night I went for a walk by myself and it was nice. 2 laps around our church parking lot is a mile, so I went around 3 times. That's about as good as I can do now. It was a nice walk. Strange weather we are having. Still cool and windy today.
Was it Emily that may have to leave Curves for the back trouble?
We are in the same boat huh? I miss Curves so much, and havent been able to work out at the new place for 2 weeks. This is a scarey time for me, I am afraid I will gain all of this weight.
I go back to the Chiro today to check my back. Curious as to what she will say.
***Melissa, congrats on the excellent ck-up! Just got mine back and all of my levels are normal. Still waiting on some saliva testing to come back.
Well I need to get ready for my appointment. All I've had so far is a low carb bar,
Have a good one ladies! sharon

Good Morning Everyone! Life here is back to normal (or at least as normal as my life gets ). DD returned to her apartment, so today is just a regular day for me. I'll head to Curves in a bit, and I'll get in my walk, probably between the raindrops. All the snow as already melted. It sounded like a mountain stream running down my gutters yesterday afternoon.

Sue..Sorry to hear that work is still so crazy. Make sure, when your vacation time comes, that you leave work at work. You need some de-stress time for sure.

Sharon..Yuck on DD's wisdom teeth. My DD had hers out when she was 18. (She did fine though and now they are out). Also, keep up the walking while you can't exercise. It will help.

Hi to everyone else. I'll try to check back in later.

Have a BEST OP day!

Good Morning Everyone

I'm up, dressed, and will leave for the gym after I finish this. Then it's dragging DSis to the grocery store, and dropping off more car parts. A womens work is never done...wonder when I'll find time to vaccum the house?

Bkft was kashi Crunch cereal w/1% milk
Lunch will be salad with chicken on top
Dinner: I haven't decided yet. -- Maybe a slow cooker pot roast? I'll see what's looking yummy at the store.

It's beautiful here today - sunny, a bit on the cool side - I want my warm weather back!!

Fran - a rat? Too funny re/the dog's. Of course that's what jack's like the most! Toys! And my doggies vet gave us tiny toothbrushes w/chicken flavored toothpaste - I could ship ya some if you want? LOL

Mlee - very good idea on the clothes. I'm already trying to consider what to wear to a hugh conference I have to attend in Philadelphia on THursday.....also I agree....avoiding stress eating by avoiding stress? What a novel idea, lol. Of course I haven't figured out how to totally avoid the stress yet! ;0

Sue & Sharon - I sure hope your backs mend soon. I remember it took me 10 weeks to finally be able to move after I herniated a disk in my lower back....I hated how it limited my movement. At my gym - I have to pay careful attention to my movements on the equipment - I never was at curves, but I can't imagine how you can do things "properly" if your in a hurry? But then as I said I've never been there.

Hey Nancy - *waving* - glad you had a good visit with DD. It's always nice to get back to what ever normal is, lol. And BTW - thanks for keeping the snow with you! We didn't need it. ;-)

Have a fantastic day - I'm just delaying the pain of working out, lol, so I'd better get on my horse and ride.

Hugs to all -
Melissa

Hi ladies! Lovely day weatherwise so I will definitely go for a walk and then off to Curves later on. I was much better OPwise yesterday but sometimes my portions are still larger than they should be. I must really work on that. Water has been no problem.

Melissa........

Sharon....... I think that is Sue who cannot go to Curves right now.

MLee..........in answer to your question........my doc did not like the idea of any diet where you intentionally "gain " weight and then try to lose it. He is worried that I will remain at the higher weight. I have to agree with him and therefore I am in the process of reading Jorge Cruise's book "The 3 Hour Diet" to try something new starting May 1st. Wish me luck!

Hi

Wow - I haven't been here in weeks & thought I'd better stop by & let you know that all is fine with me (well, except getting a lot of exercise and eating less & removing pounds...same 'ol, same 'ol)

I'll have to zip through past posts to find out what's been going on with everyone - sometime. (Is there a condensed version anywhere?)

I've been thinking of my BEST friends who may have been flooded or covered with spring snow...hew: none here. Dh's friend was in his glory though this past weekend, able to ski (spring conditions) one day and golf (soggy) the next. I don't do either.

Looking at a cookbook w/healthy recipes last night and saw one that made me think of Desk...cottage cheese, shredded turkey, raisins, black pepper on cantalope...!!! Actually a number of the recipes which look good use coconut milk...I've never used that in cooking, but may give that a try.

My 3 jobs keeping me ultra busy...working on a grant for a may one submission in one, my web writing needs to be complete soon & I'm behind...and my 2-6pm at a local office keeps me grounded in one place, but they have multiple clients, so my brain still spins!

Take care everyone - I may not be here, but I do think about my BEST friends.

Cool - Tuesday, 4/26 Tuesday, 4/26

Hellodeedoodeedoo!!

Where was I this morning? Wait for it Sue........Oversleeping due to a pukey kid keeping me up half the night, forgot eldest DDs packed lunch, had to ring school, so I asked for them to give her a lunch, and I'd pay tomorrow! next door neighbour had youngest DD for me to go to work, as her DS also got the bug that's doing the rounds.

Not a lot to report here....had a banana for lunch, ham and cheese sandwich for lunch, and we're having sausages and scrambled egg (for me) sausage and chips for DDs (1 may just have sausage sandwich)

Must try next week to go to gym at least once a week, I am missing it, and it will help the weight loss. I weighed today, and I have put a pound back on so One must try harder.......!

I'm washing my mop head in the washing machine, so I'm posting on here while I wait for machine, and having a coffee at the same time. Then, I'll be getting dinner, taking kids to singing and drama class that they started last week, and then mop the downstairs in peace and quiet with Billy and Jake locked in the garden!

Off to start phase II of my day!

I'm back from FL and visiting my folks. I prepared meals and baked for the holiday and did errands and tried to make my mother relax a little. She had 16 guests for the Passover seder on Sunday night. It went very well and we are all recovering from the preparatory stress now. I'm back at work, but will take Thurs and Friday off to go to Savannah to meet some of LT's family. The dogs will come with us, so I won't mind just sleeping in the hotel room ... I know I won't be bored!!

When I got home yesterday I was soooooo tired that every part of my body ached. I thought I'd been taken over by arthritis and would never move again. After a 5 hour nap yesterday and a full night's sleep I feel much more alive and human, thankfully!!

I am way way behind and probably won't have time to catch up, but I'm sending s to everyone, congrats where congrats are due, to those who are down, and one way or another I'm going to get moving again.

My aunt was the only one who said anything about my weight, and while it wasn't said hurtfully, it always stings. I spent a great deal of my time helping her (and also my mother) setting up their new Palm handhelds, and helping them work through the software, and none of that time was "spare". So while we were working I told her how I'd been trying to find a good place to work out, and all the places that did NOT work out. She is currently going to Curves 3x per week and walking two other days. So she said "so with all this exercise, how come you are so heavy?" Rats (sorry Fran) but I thought I had explained it already!!

Oh well. I'm happy to be alive and I'm NOT going to beat myself up over my weight. I have many undercurrents of dissatisfaction with my weight and I don't need anyone else pointing out that I'm too fat. Um, do I sense a bit of tension in my attitude today? Hee hee I think so, and I need to relieve that tension with an attitude adjustment!!

I missed the snow while in Florida but the weather there was lovely, breezy, sunny and cool.

Later,
Desk

Hi BEST Buddies,

"People the world over may have their differences, but underneath we share a common humanity." When I hear statements like that, I think of pukey kids. Just think, though separated by over 5,000 miles, Fran and I are both cleaning up . Therein lies the hope for world peace?

And when people sing the praises of cultures with close extended families, I think about aunts like Desk's and in-laws like mine. Wouldn't it be great to share a house with them? !!

Okay, I'll be a nice lady now --- or maybe not until DS stops throwing-up every half hour. It's been 25 minutes, so I'm signing off. It's so bad when you hope to catch a stomach bug so as to drop a couple pounds. I myself have a sore throat. We are quite a pair today.

Hi

Mlee you are too funny. Peace by puking! My youngest DD had that bug a week or so ago too. We both hate hate hate being sick to our stomachs. Always seems to end up shooting out our nose at some point. Yuck!

Welcome back from Florida Desk. You can't pay any attention at all to relatives. Most of them are loopy aren't they? Lucky you going to Savannah. I've always wanted to visit there.

Work was well work today so I drank my water and didn't even think of going for a soda. Food was okay pretty much the same thing as always. For dinner I am trying a spicy vegetable couscous.

Emily is the three hour diet basically eating small meals every three hours? I've heard good things about it.

Well my dog is looking at me with a pitiful take me out expression so I'd better do it.

Bye, Llyn
