bleeding at 11 weeks...is this normal??

Hi all,
I had my TAH 11 weeks ago and everything was going fine until this morning when I started bleeding after sex - this was not the first time we had had sex since the surgery (we've had lots!) but it is the first time I've had any bleeding. I'm also feeling quite sore, just a general cramping but have nothing left to cramp!!
I don't want to bother the doctor if it's nothing to worry about!

You may have tissue granulation.I don't know what else it could be, but wanted to bump it up for others to see.
Maybe it was just the "way" you all made love--position,etc.
Good luck and I WOULD call your Dr

Does sound like granulation

I had my TAH on 03/30 and started bleeding at 2 1/2 weeks. The doctor said its granulation and, from what I've read, often occurs months after surgery. When it's "bumped" it bleeds because it's basically "over enthusiastic scar tissue" with lots of veins.

I've had two packings (tampons) with Monsel's solution - still bleeding but hopeful. There are still things that can be done and my doctor is "not worried". I even had a CT scan four days ago to confirm that there are no complications.

I have this strange feeling that I will experience bleeding episodes several times in the future.

Let us know what you find out.

I also had granulation late...was treated at 4 1/2 months. It started by feeling achy, later turned to crampy, then to pain and bleeding. It's best to call the office and report it...you're not bothering anyone....blood should always be reported.

Best wishes,
Maralyn

thanks all you guys for your support. Yep, you know your stuff...Doc says it's granulation and should settle down - no sex for a week then to try again and if same thing keeps happening then she'll refer me back to gyn. Still feel a bit sore today but at least bleeding has stopped. Doc says I'm still a bit raw inside so must take it easy - and i was feeling so great too up until 2 days ago!!!
thanks again
anna
