Endo returning 2 years postop?

Hi there!
Been a long time since I posted, but I'm wondering if I'm starting to have a problem. I had a TAH/RSO (kept left ovary) a little over two years ago. For the last couple of weeks, I've been having some of the old familiar pains.

I have had no signs of my endo returning until a few weeks ago. Is it possible for endo to reappear so far past my hyst? I thought if there were any remaining, I would have known about it long before now; especially since I have a lot of low estrogen symptoms.

Anyone with any input out there??

Endo returning 2 years postop?

I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago (LAVH). I had my right ovary and adhesions removed lapraoscopically 10 months ago. I had yet another surgery 10 weeks ago to remove a right pelvic tumor and more adhesions.

When I had the most recent surgery my doctor found that some endo had started to grow back. Endo can come back. The other possibility is that you couls have some issues with the left ovary and/or adhesions. I still have my left ovary too. With each surgery I have had my left ovary has been drained of cysts, detached from adhesions, and wrapped in mesh to help protect it.

I think it's time to see your doctor again - they may want to do an ultrasound, CT scan, MRI and other testing.

Good luck.

Endo returning 2 years postop?

Hi Christy45,

I was never diagnosed with endo when I had my hyst in 2000. I had a cyst removed last Sept. and no mention of endo then either.
I had an RSO this past Jan. when my new doctor found a large area of endo. She turned my laparoscopy into a laparotomy so she could remove that and some other surprising things she found. I had wondered if I had endo as I have 2 half sisters (all have the same mother) who both had hysts because of endo.

I keep praying that I won't have any more problems with endo.

Good luck to you.
Essie
