I am new, and love it here

Thank goodness I found this site! I could have missed a LOT of preperation without visiting here first!

Let me introduce myself,

My name is Angela, and I am schedualed for my TAH on May 24th due to a large fiberoid.

Before tonight, I had no idea the extent of recovery, or just had not given it as much thought.... But now I am feeling anxious to get things in order, so I can rest comfortably during my recovery.

This is such a wierd time in my life anyway, Sunday is my last day of work (Im quitting my job due to them harrassing me about all my sick days, and a day after putting in my notice I find out WHY all these years I'd accumulated so many sick days). On top of that we are sending in adoption homestudy paperwork (that is all I think I am allowed to post via the rules here, and hopefully that isnt pushing the limits). Not only that, but June 8th I turn 30 yuck... I wasnt looking forward to 30 anyhow, but NOW Im really not looking forward to it hehe..

Anyhow, I really want to express my thanks to the creators of this site, it is evident to me how many lives are affected each day by such a great support site.

Updates to follow as I get them, thank you for reading a little bit about me

Hi Angela,

Yes this is a awesome site and I'm glad you found it. It has been such a wonderful source of information for me as my gyn didn't give me a lot of information.

The ladies on this site are so welcoming and you can talk quite frankly about your concerns without being judged as you have probably already gathered by reading the different posts.

Anyway I hope you have an uneventful and speedy recovery. Just remember to follow the golden rules of resting, walking and plenty of fluids after surgery and of course the pampering.

Take care...............Karen

, oh, I do agree with you about this site. It was certainly a lifesaver for me when I was waiting for my hyst. I was sooo emotional and scared. I learned so much, and got so much support - my family is very grateful too I'm still here and my surgery was almost 3 years ago now.

It does sound like you've got a full plate right now. I'm sending the best of wishes and lots of prayers that all works out well for you.

the 30's are the BOMB!

Hi Angela!

I too dreaded turning 30 (it was a long time ago - LOL - but still remember the 'trepidation') --- but looking back it was a wonderful age.

Let's see:

I was 'old' enough to not do really stupid things but young enough to be able to do anything I wanted to do.

My personal life was stable and I was happy.

I was secure in my job and financially able to do what I wanted.

I was still too young to worry about retiring - and the money needed for that.

========

I commend you on pursuing adoption - I am an adopted child myself, also raised 2 of DH's .

Recovery is the best part - it's over and done with and there is nothing but 'future' to think about.
