orgasm after hysterectomy

Hi Girls ,
Wow , has this site been a complete blessing for me !! Thank you all from my heart to yours .

This is embarrassing but I want to ask it.
I am today 4 weeks out from a "routine" sah( just the uterus ).
Have had bladder issues with urine retention .The whole voiding issue is not easy.I sit for a while and patiently void. but seems to be moving in the right direction Lot's of pelvic swelling etc etc. cathing just once a day now.

This is my question today my husband manually( his hand) brought me to an orgasm and the pain was intense at the brink of that orgasm !
I was quite sore for awhile ..
IS THIS NORMAL?????I was so scared!

Was it too soon? Has anyone else had this problem ?
Thank you in advance for all your help/
I will wait patiently for any info.

Thank you very very much

Hi,

Please check with your doctor to see if it is ok for you to be having sexual activity. Some doctors want you to wait to have any sexual activity until they check you (including outercourse and masturbation). Doctors vary on their recommendations about this so it is important to check with your own doctor.

If you are having pain you need to let your doctor know.

Take care.

I agree with Lynn Mary, maybe a call to your doctor would give you piece of mind, especially if you experienced a lot of pain.

I think you might still be early in the recovery stage, maybe wait a week or two before trying again. You don't want to rush things and have a set-back.

I had the big "O" around 5 weeks and waited for sex until 6 weeks. Everyone heals differently so I think a call might be warranted.

Wishing you well!

I was given okay for external orgasim at 2 weeks, only external nothing at all internal.

I too was sore..my whole lower abdomin. I think because I was tense for one and had a little bit of a hard time getting there...which I think may be normal. But it was intense, different I may say with no uterus but it still works so far down there....

I had to put ice on my pelvic area to stop the pain...probably due to the contraction of the orgasim which my doc said is normal...it's up to me if it's worth it or not. I now decided to wait a couple more weeks..

In doubt call the doc or her/his nurse.

Was given the okay for external stimulation at 2 weeks - and the first time it hurt because of the muscles contracting. Since then (waited another week) there is no pain - different feeling and takes longer to get there - but no pain is a good thing and at least I know that I still 'work' - LOL.

Give it some time... I too had just the uterus removed and no repair work -- those muscles are bruised from them poking around in there.

My big curisity is going to be sex.......which probably of course I won't be given the okay until 6weeks...but I wonder if it will be different without my uterus.

I hope better, my doctor says most woman say it is........only time will tell..
