nipple discharge

I'm not sure where I should post this-been doing all my posts here, so here goes. I've had some leakage from my left nipple very rarely for the last several months. I'll go a few weeks with nothing, then have it once or twice a day. It's clear & kinda sticky. It has no smell. It reminds me of colostrum. I mentioned this to gyno a few months back & was given a prolactin test & all levels were normal. Anyone else had this annoyance? It's very embarrassing - especially since I haven't breastfed for almost 2 years! I was wondering if maybe I should bring it up to gyno again? Thanks.

God bless,
Amanda

Hi, I've had,got nipple discharge but I have a problem with high prolactin levels for which I have to take medication. I would ask the doctor to retest your levels. Mine were normal for a long time and then the levels rose. Good Luck! I know that it's miserable and I'll be thinking of you

Hi! I'm sorry you're facing this.

I agree -- bring it up to your gyno again. This is definitely something you will want to have addressed!

Hoping you get resolution soon.

I have fibrocystic breasts and they leak just like that periodically. The cysts are filled with fluid. Sometimes the fluid leaks out through the nipples. Are your breasts really tender and sometimes feel lumpy, especially just before your period? If so, you may have it too. Fibrocystic breasts are VERY common. There isn't really anything to be done about it other than watching what you eat to try to avoid foods with a lot of caffeine.

There are some medications that can cause this. You might want to have your doctor or pharmacist check if you are on meds.
