Of course!

Of course you are happy that your mom is coming! I am 47, and my surgery is scheduled for this coming Monday the 16th, and I will not only have my mom, but also my angel husband of 23 years, and 3 best friends who are taking time off from work to take care of me! No one looks forward to surgery unless they are nutty, and the more loved ones around the better you will feel, at least that is my theory! Best of luck!!

I'm so happy

I am so glad your mom is going to be there with you. And I dont think you sound like a baby at all. I'm 33 yrs old and I'll be 6 wks post op Thursday. I dont think I would've had the courage at all to go through with the surgery. My mom was there the whole time and was willing to stay the night even though she had just had surgery 2 days before and still in pain. So yes I know exactly how you feel

hysts and our mom's

I didn't have to ask my mom twice to come out after my hyst. She arrived with dad the day before. Stayed the night with us, went to the hospital with me and hubby and my youngest daughter only 16mos at the time. My dad stayed home with my older daughter she was about 4. dad left about two days later. Mom stayed for 2 whole weeks.
Long enough for me to get out of one hospital, spend two days at home on the couch, and get re admitted to another hospital closer to home due to complications. I had a blood clot in my cath tubing and was getting dehydrated due to my inabiblity to pass urine. Long story. I think it was kind of poisoning me or something. Anyway without my mom I wouldn't have been able to take care of myself and my DH and my little girls. She is a god send.
Grandma had a blast with the girls. My older one would wake her up when my DH went to work. She was hungry and swore that she needed to eat toast NOW. Never mind that Dh left at 3 am! Ha ha ha. a few days of that and mom had her trained that she could come up to find grandma and lie back down with out waking up everyone else in the house.
I was in lots of pain, but having my mom there made it better. Mom's are the best invention ever.
