My fallopian tubes were accidentally cut off...help

Hello all. I hope I am in the right forum, this is my first post. I have had 3 urgeries in the last 5 months. In December 2004 I had a laproscopy that did not turn out to be endometriosis. My GYN said that I had a prolapsed uterus so we did a vaginal hysterectomy on 1-4-05. I bled for 6 weeks after my surgery and she said that it was a blood pocket and should go away.
When she did my 6 week check-up she thought that I had Granulated tissue so she cut it off in her office and put silver nitrate on it. It hurt like crazy. I went back in 2 weeks later and she wanted to do it again, but I could not miss work for the rest of the day so she gave me a creme to try and told me to come back in two weeks. It was still there and she said that she did not think it was granulated tissue, she thought it was my fallopian tube coming out of my vaginal vault.
We did ANOTHER surgery to remove part of my tube (which it did come back as my tube).
Now I have what she says is an 8 CM fluid filled cyst on my right ovary and she wanted to just watch it.
I have since found another Dr. She had me do an ultrasound and they do not think it's a cyst but possibly my fallopian tube or something else that has swelled up and attached itself to my ovary. She referred me to Dr. number 3.

Has anyone else had anything like this or heard of it. Any insight would be so helpful. If they do go in a remove my ovaries (The GYN said she thought another surgery would have to be done) how long is the recovery? Do I have to miss another 6 weeks of work??

THANK YOU so much!!!

This site is great!

My fallopian tubes were accidentally cut off...help

Hi,

I have not had this happen to me , but I have heard of it. I am sorry you are dealing with all of this.

I did find some info in our Resources library at the top of the page:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...&holding=f1000

Also if you go to Search at the top of the page and put in fallopian tube, you might come up with some threads on what others have experienced in this.

I hope this helps some.

My fallopian tubes were accidentally cut off...help

HI, I am not sure if this will help you or not but when my doc and I were discusing what to leave or take out with my hyst. we knew that my left ovary was shot so that was coming out for sure decided if the right one looked good than it would stay . and he said that if it had problems in the future than it could be removed through a lap. which would only meen 2-3wks of work. I am only 17days post op so we are not sure if it working good or not right now. as far as surgery that could end up in the removal of fallopian tubes. not sure if that can be done lap or not. I do know in my case I had 2 previuos surgerys for ectopic pregnacys.which if you are not sure what that is it is when the baby grows in the fallopian tube. well anyways both times my tubes ended up rupturing and they had to do abdominal surgerys and that did meen I was out of work for about 7wks both times. but like I said this is only my experiance. and I know that ectopic pregnancy is not what your problem is . just wanted to give you some idea about possible time off. depending on what your problem really is and what they do . I hope that you get the answer soon so that you will know what to expect and get some piece of mind. good luck, Cathy
