free flowing fluid

my ultrasound showed thatthe mass has grown. the only significant change being the presence of free flowing fluid in the cavity. he did not seem to think it was ascitis. so what would the significance of free flowing fluid be?

I don't have an answer, but wanted to bump your post up again.
It will be interesting to see what the onc doc has to say on Friday.
Best wishes.

free flowing fluid

Hi there,

Just wanted to drop by and say "Hang in there until Fri and you speak with your gyn/onc". I have never heard the term "free flowing fluid" in a cavity before. Tho I do know that there should be no fluid in the cavity. But if there is, it can be fluid for many reasons, aside from cancer. it is a complex thing, but certainly one must rule out the worst things first - and that is where your gyn/onc comes from.

We are all wishing you the best news, keep us posted. Judy

the gyn dr told me that it is very normal to have a small amount of free flowing fluid. it is when there is a lot that it is of concern. i only had a small amount.
