estrodiol implants, anyone tried them

kept forgetting to take my HRT daily pill, so decided along with my GP to try an implant.
Had it done on Wed. My GP did it for me, but I don't think I would have another.
He nipped my stomach so hard trying to insert the pellet with this metal tube thing that I nearly cried out,.
I thought it was just a little cut and put the pellet in, but it doesn't seem that simple.
Big round bruise on my tum too!
Anyone else have any experience with these?
It should last around 4 months I think.

Oh Conyers that sounds very "OUCH"
That worries me as I have had my implant since my surgery 8 months ago. I feel that maybe it is wearing out a little and might need replacing sooner than the year my Gyn said it would.
I obviously had in put in during surgery so have no memories of the pain or discomfort, I have been happy with it though and think I'll have another one but pain does may me think OUCH!
I have trouble with taking alot of oral meds so it does suit me and I haven't had any side effects, I know I need HRT life without it would be unbearable for me, so hopefully my Dr will be gentle when he puts the next one in.
