"period pains" 6 months on

I had a TVH in November inc ovaries etc; but I still seem to get the same sort of feeling I got when I was either just pregnant or at the start of a period - maybe how I'd feel two days before menstrual bleeding would start. . . .

I know I haven't got a uterus or any female organs left in there, so why am I feeling this?

I haven't tracked it to see if it is regularly every four weeks; but it seems about that, and it co incides with a dreadful bad mood <g> (poor dh) and typical pre-menstrual symptoms

Any ideas? I am on climaval 2mg a day, but it really started to bloat me terrrrribly, and I had all the "too much estrogen" symptoms, so I only take one every other day, or every third day and feel fine.

And suggestions - or - ugg - do you think I have sthg wrong with some other organ down there (I have no uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix or ovaries - and no appendix; and my colon is fine; what else is down there - other than my bladder, which is fine too)

Love
H

Hi,

I really haven't a clue for you except endo. Did you have that ? Did you go on to a hormone right after surgery? If so, maybe endo has returned and if it's clinging to the vaginal cuff you will feel crampy/achy.

Sorry

I am right there with you, girls, and I am baffled!! My period was due on or about 4/19 (SURGERY DATE), so tomorrow is exactly 28 days. During the 2nd and 3rd wekk post-op I thought that my overies were "sleeping" due to the mood swings, night sweats, ect. BUT...a few days ago, my breasts swelled and are sore, my headache is mild however quite apparent, and I thought I actually felt some cramping. NO uterus and cramps?????? God, help me..I want this to stop. Do you think that maybe my ovaries were not working properly and then when they awoke they surged??

Cyclic pain

Hi,
I am a little more than 4 months since my surgery. I have begun have sore breasts and very light bleeding (have my cervix) at about 24 day intervals. It tells me that my one ovary is still working and I am happy for that. I can live with this annoyance much better than the way things were before my hyster.
Best of luck,
Colleen

Period Pains

I am so glad to hear someone else talk about this subject. I am nearly 6 weeks post op. I had the same thing happen. I had everything removed (overies, uterus, cervex). I had the same symptoms of my period. The back and leg pains and cramps. I had endo and was worried that the dr. may not have gotten it all. I talked to him about it and he acted like he had never heard of this before. He even said there was nothing there to have those pains. I had such painful periods before surgery I would hate to think that I am still going to feel them. I have heard of people who had limbs amputated and still felt the pain. Maybe I am just panicing.

God Bless, Kat

I was told that this was called fantom pain and it could hang around for a little while until the body adjusts to not having all those organs.
