low back pain/ prolapsed uterus and cervix
I am having a TVH and rectal repair for a fissure from the birth or our last child on May 17th. I am experiencing low back pain more and more each day. My cervix "dropped out" and I actally had to push it back in on April 25th. This was the beginning of my problems. I went to the Gyn and was told a hyster was necessary. I trust my gyn since I have seen him since the age of 19, so I have not bothered to get a second opinion My question is this: How bad can back pain get with this? I am also experiencing sharp pains inside my vag area. This seems to occur after sitting more than an hour, or walking too much. I guess this is the Lord's way of making me ready for Tuesday. This has all been such a shock to me, my DD (husband?) sorry I'm new here. Another question: Where do you find a list of all the acronyms used on this site? Thanks for listening.

low back pain/ prolapsed uterus and cervix
Welcome to Hyster Sisters. You'll find lots of information by looking at other threads and reading the information in the resources section. I know the abbreviations can be found at the top of the post-op section. Click here to go to that thread.
My uterus was extended about an inch outside of the vagina. I had neither back pains nor sharp vaginal pains with my prolapses. There was certainly pressure in the vagina and it felt like parts were falling out all the time. I'm not sure how it would affect your back unless there is some other problem along with this. Hopefully others will come along soon and give you more input.

low back pain/ prolapsed uterus and cervix
Hi and Welcome!
So sorry to hear you're having problems but glad you found us. This is a great site for gathering information.
My prolapses caused back pain too but part of that may have been from a tilted uterus. I just know that the back pain is now gone and I'm glad. My bladder was prolapsing the worst but everything was repaired and that dragging feeling is gone also.
It's hard to say how anyone's symptoms or surgery outcome will be since we're all different. I pray that all goes well for you.
To find the abbreviations, click on FAQ's near the top of the page. Be sure to click on "Checkpoints" in the purple bar above also.
Sending healing ss

low back pain/ prolapsed uterus and cervix
Thanks for the info on the acronyms. I was confused! :-) And thanks to you both for the info on prolapse. I wonder if my uterus is tipped as I do remember hearing that from the doc during a pelvic exam once. Maybe that explains the back pain. Yesterday was the worst, so I layed down and fell asleep rather quickly (out of exhaustion from the pain) and felt better once I woke up. I am not taking anything for the pain since the surgery is Tues and I don't want to take any more meds than necessary. I told my DH that it reminds me of early labor pains in a way. Anyway, the surgery is Tues and I am thinking thinking thinking an awful lot! Mostly, I am concentrating on positive thoughts, but every once in a while, the devil creeps in and those negative thoughts invade. Thanks again. I really am thankful this site is available.

low back pain/ prolapsed uterus and cervix
I too have severe prolapses of the rectum and bladder. The uterus is only mildly prolapsed but tilted. I have had a lot of back pain as the prolapses have gotten worse. The top tip of my tailbone is even swollen. I too am looking forward to relief.

Relief. That is the word my husband keeps telling me when I try to find a way out of this surgery. (Believe me, I have been trying to get out of it since we scheduled it ) but I am realizing the only way to feel better is to have the surgery. Thanks, and my DH will thank you too for pointing out the fact that relief will occur once the recovery is complete. :-)
How are you all doing since your surgery (how is the recovery going?), and those of you about to have it, how are you doing with the anxiety?

low back pain/ prolapsed uterus and cervix
Hello, I also had a prolapse uterus and had a TVH because of my problem. My back pains were not as bad as my vagina pains. Those got so bad I didn't know if I was going to make it till surgery. My doc. had to put me on pain med.'s just so I could work till I had my surgery. I must say I'm so glad I had this surgery. I feel great now! No more pains, no more periods! HEY!! I don't regret a thing. I would have done this a long time ago if I would have known I would feel this good. Instead I suffered all those years. When I look back now I could have kicked myself for waiting so long.
