Unhappy - adhesions on bladder and bowel adhesions on bladder and bowel

Hi all,

I am scheduled for a total and ovaries and tubes too. 5/25/05
I have adhesions that are on my bowel and bladder, and maybe on the ureters. I have to have stints put in my ureters and completely emptying of the bowel before my sugery. No eating for 2 days prior. Clear liquids only. I am scared. Having a hard time with about everyting.
I had to have an emergency D&C 6 weeks ago because of bleeding. I need to have the surgery , but I am chicken and thinking of canceling. What do you think?? I know it is normal, but that does not help. I am trying to keep myself busy and not think about it. But it creeps up on me when I think of all that I need to do to get my house and family ready. I would thank any thoughts that you might have.

adhesions on bladder and bowel

Hello
I know how scared you are. I hadn't been to a gyn since I was released from having my last baby 13 years ago. I had been bleeding terribly for the last 10 years. I finally reached the point where I felt like I was dying. I finally went to a gyn April 27 of 2004. I had a 3 unit blood transfusion 2 days later and my surgery 1 week later. It was a real emergency TAH. My gyn said I would have died on the operating table without the transfusion first. I had adenoymosis which was causing me to bleed to death. I had to have 2 prolapses repaired in Jan., but am still so glad I had it done. I wouldn't be alive to type you this letter of encouragement and to offer my support.
I feel you need to go ahead with the surgery. You will feel so much better once you make it through your recovery. This is a great site and you will find so much info. and support here. You medical issues won't go away on their own and will only get worst. Mine did and all I can say is I should have had it done years ago. I could have enjoyed those last 10 years alot more.
We are here for you. I hope this helps. It is a hard surgery and recovery, no lying about it. I know you can do it though. Do alot of research and make a list of all kinds of questions to ask your dr. Read through the post op and pre op forum and it will help you alot.
Good luck and I want to wish you a HAPPY new beginning!

Peggy
