Urodynamics Testing Tomorrow

Hi Sisters:

I just dropped by for a little moral support. I'm scheduled for my urodynamics testing tomorrow afternoon (with cystoscopy scheduled for next Monday). Since my hysterectomy in June, I thought I was long since past being embarrassed about having to have my private areas exposed to everyone. I'm used to the paps, but this is something new. Doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun either.::

Wish me luck!

Good luck Linda - I know what you mean about the private parts. I've had the study done and whilst I thought I would be embarressed it wasn't too bad. You just have to keep telling yourself that at least it should provide you with some answers and then you can take a stance.
Hugs and good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Linda,

Best of luck to you. I had the urodynamic tests done too, and really it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The nurse that conducted my tests was very sweet, she kept the conversation going on other topics (kids, the weather etc) so that I wouldn't think about what was going on. It goes fairly quickly too.

I hope that these tests provide you with some answers. Please let us know what you find out.

Urodynamics Testing Tomorrow

Hi Lily and Lisa:

Thanks for the response to my post. I had the urodynamics portion of my tests today. Besides being somewhat embarrassing, it wasn't too bad. The worst part was trying to go after my bladder was filled to explosion levels (LOL), especially the second time. The technician said the test would take about 30 minutes. It ended up taking an hour and 30 minutes!

Next Monday, I have my cystoscopy. Guess the doctor will let me know about today's test then. I'll let you know.

Thanks again for the support.

Good luck on Monday Linda. Glad it wasn't too bad, but gee 1 1/2 hrs! I know what you mean about how long it took you to empty your bladder afterwards. At that stage the nurse was still in the room, it took ages and ages, she ended up leaving the room but I was still sitting there feeling pretty silly

Linda,

Best wishes with your cystoscopy on Monday, will be keeping you in my thoughts.

I was the same way with emptying my bladder, is kind of hard to go "potty" when you are being watched
