Estrace Cream

I am currently using 1-2mg of estrace cream a twice a week for urgency problems. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't .

Anyone else having urgency problems?

Estrace Cream

Hi,

I have also been having urgency problems. I've been working with my Gyno to get to the root of it. It has caused other issues for me.

The most recent thing we worked on had amazing results .. and was so easy. My Gyno sent me to work with an RN on his team who specializes in Kegels. She taught me how to do them correctly and gave me a number of instructions to follow. To be exact, I had problems with constant leakage and also urgency.

The Kegels are for the leakage.

For the urgency she told me to drink more water .. at a steady rate .. don't drink too much at one time. I can't remember exactly how much I am supposed to drink per quarter hour .. I think it was 1/2 a cup or something? but to pace my water drinking. She said that not drinking enough water can increase urgency.

She also told me to track how often I had the urge to go and how often I actually went ... # of times per hour. I did that before my appointment with her. I also had to track the amount of fluids I drank per hour. She then instructed me to go to the bathroom every hour whether or felt the urgency or not. (Actually, every hour is normal for most people .. I actually had to go every 15 minutes to start since I was going several times per hour.) I was to continue that for 4 days .. then change to 1 hour and 15 minutes. And continue increasing every 4 days until the time was around 2 1/2 to 3 hours between visits.

I did the 15 minutes .. but had to switch to more like 45 minutes because I couldn't fit my schedule around that many visits per hour. Between that and drinking more water on a regular basis I was able to calm my bladder down after about 1 week. It was amazing. I only have urgency once in a while now. And I use that as my guide to note that maybe I have to increase my water . It's easy to go back to not drinking enough.

She also said that if the urine in the toilet after you go is a strong color .. that usually means you are not drinking enough water. Another red flag for me.

Hopefully this info will help you or prompt you to talk with your doctor about treatment.

Good luck,
Mary

Estrace Cream

Thanks, I will try that, although I can't use the bathroom that much at work as I am a receptionist.

Estrace Cream

Hi Lissa

I am using vagifem for bladder urgency. I have never had a problem with vaginal dryness but have had a problem with the urgency. When I called my doctor to talk to him about the bladder urgency and leakage he recommended Vagifem.

I love it!!!! It is very easy to use and it has cleared up the bladder urgency problems within the few two weeks of using it.

I wish I could use that, but I am allergic to it as well. I guess I am just one of those problem cases!
