MAKING THE WEEK LONG PATCH STAY ON??

HI LADIES,
I FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING THAT WORKS FOR ME, THE DOCTOR TOOK ME OFF OF PREMARIN AND PUT ME ON THE CLIMARA PATCH, THE THING IS I'M ONLY SUPPOSED TO CHANGE IT ONCE A WEEK AND I CAN'T SEEM TO KEEP IT ON LONGER THAN 4 DAYS, EVEN WITH USING RUBBING ALCOHOL FIRST. I REALLY HATE TO GIVE THIS PATCH UP, I FINALLY HAVE RELIEF FROM THE HOT FLASHES AND THOSE HORRIBLE NIGHT SWEATS, ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE THAT THING STAY ON FOR A WEEK OR MAYBE WHERE TO STICK IT? IT'S SO BIG(ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE TOP OF A VEGETABLE CAN) I CAN'T FIND A GOOD SPOT FOR IT.
THNKAS IN ADVANCE FOR YOU HELP.

MAKING THE WEEK LONG PATCH STAY ON??

I too have only been on the patch for about 4 weeks. I went through my month long supply in 2 weeks due to the fact I couldn't get it to stick. I went to the doctor's and got 2 samples of Climara. The ones I were using were generic and much bigger. The Climara are thinner, clear and smaller.
I also do the alcohol thing and use a regular soap in the area I put my patch. I've been sticking mine on my back hip, a little above my butt. I couldn't get it to stay on my stomach. I've also read on a post, to blow dry it on low for a few minutes to help it adhere. I do this every morning when I'm drying my hair.
Hope this helps!

MAKING THE WEEK LONG PATCH STAY ON??

Carmel,
It does seem that stickiness with the Climara patch is a common problem. Here is a thread with some helpful tips on getting the patch to stay stuck http://www.hystersisters.com/forums/...?threadid=3323

Hugs :-)

MAKING THE WEEK LONG PATCH STAY ON??

I have been using the Vivelle Dot since last May and I know that it contains the same estradiol as Climara. Perhaps it will stick better for you, and since it is changed twice a week, you won't have to get it to stick more than 4 days.
Ask your doctor and get his/her opinion.
Good luck.

MAKING THE WEEK LONG PATCH STAY ON??

Hi! I use the Climara patch. i use second skin patches over the patch to protect it from my very long hot baths... Transdermal clear skin! Works great! i think you can get them over the counter, i already had them due to another problem! Best of luck!

THANK YOU LADIES

Thanks for your replies, I'll try the blow dryer thing and also if it starts to come off I'll just let it be and see what happens, if that doesn't work I'll try the second skin patches over it, then if all that fails I'll call my doc and ask about switching to a twice a week patch.
Thank you all so much!!!
