Back to work and feeling good

Hi, everyone. It's been a while since I spoke with you. I returned to work 05/16, just under six weeks post-op. I get tired in the afternoon, so I'm being careful to not schedule anything from 3 pm on just in case.

No pain, swelling mostly gone. Dr said my scar is amazingly flat - she said most patients' scars are bumpy or gnarly. She was very surprised and thinks it's because I was so careful not to do things I shouldn't - and I have HysterSisters to thank for the warnings I received.

If anyone's interested, labs came back with no cancer - uterus was three times size, multiple large and small fibroids. One fibroid was attached between the uterus and bowel and required a second surgeon, a bowel specialist, to disentagle.

DH and I finally resumed intimate activity last night - all systems go! DH was so scared of hurting me and I finally had to tell him to knock it off.

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have - please send me an email. My life is back to full tilt and I probably won't be visiting HS as often - call it my graduation! My best to all my Hystersisters out there. Remember, life goes on, and you will get past this time of your life. :-) cj

Back to work and feeling good

HI, you sound like you are doing good . and I am happy that the report came back good to. I here it relly does help us alot better if we fallow the rules of recovery. I am at 3wks so I have a little bit longer to go before I can go back to work. I had a TAH/LSO and other than having a little bit of pain still I am doing pretty good. and I hope that you continue to do as well as you are doing now I hear that it takes us sometimes up to a year to completely heal. take care, Cathy
